98 ford explorer oil gauge shakes or is unsteady?

The check gauge light is constantly coming and my oil gauge shakes back and forth slightly. I check the oil level and it seems fine. Any ideas?

1. you need your oil pressure sending unit replaced. if the oil level is good and the engine isnt making noise, or knocking, the OPSU needs replaced.
2. Could be a few things. Check the easiest first. Check the connector to the oil pressure sending unit. It could be loose and sending erratic signals to the gage. Replace the oil pressure sending unit. The sending unit may be failing. You could also have an oil pressure problem. If this is the case, see a mechanic before the engine fails.
