Could you become a marine biologist with tattoos and piercings?

I plan on getting a half sleeve and probably a chest piece as well. And I already have gauged ears, and I don't know if that will make it harder for me to become a marine biologist >__< i<3ryan(:

  1. Unless it keeps you from studying-- or there's a freak accident with fish getting stuck in your holes- it should have no adverse impact. I've got tattoos on every limb and, though they are out now, I started my current career (marketing for very conservative digital tech company) with several facial piercings. Good Luck! Have fun! Make responsible decisions and only use reputable, well researched artists!!
  2. a marine biologist? so you're thinking you have to be a MARINE? The few, the proud, the marines? That type of marine? They're not biologists, hammerhead. They're SOLDIERS! Hey. Here's a question. Can you become a doctor if you have tattooes?
  3. some people can overlook that sort of thing if your really dedicated to the job...it all depends on the employer..i've worked for places that except it and others that make me cover them
  4. In that field, why do you think it would be a problem at all? Just get well done work, tattoos have far less stigma attached to them today, than in years past. I put skin art on plenty of professional people, both in discreet places, and in plain field of vision. Your ability to work in a chosen profession is not as comprimised by a tattoo, as it is of the nature of the tattoos. Eye poppin' skin art looks good on anyone. Take care.
  5. Depends on who you want to work for in the future. I am assuming the half sleeve will be upper arm and that is easy enough to hide if you need to.
