would it be ok to mount my BB gun scope on my shotgun?
I have a BB gun scope that is 4x20 and i am going deer hunting with my 12 gauge shotgun in Wisconsin. Can i mount my scope on my shotgun so i don't have to use the bead sights?

- No you can not. It may work for one or two shots, air rifle and rifle scopes are made different. The recoil of a 12 gauge would more then likely bust the cross hairs on your scope
- jason22 is right it would brake the scope
- no for many reasons the scope is probably not shock resistant and the shot gun will damage it plus the field of view is prob too narrow ... a shot gun requires a wide field of view to lead with etc ....
- You can. I did when I was young and poor. It was a 12 gauge and it didn't break the scope at all. It did improve my shooting accuracy but it gave a rather narrow field of view. It was sometimes difficult to find the deer in the scope.
- that 4x20 from a bb gun will fall apart unless it is airgun rated. an airgun rated scope can withstand the double recoil of a hard recoiling magnum power springer air rifle. even the standard hunting rifle scope can't handle the recoil of a springer.
- I'd advise against it. The heavy recoil from the shotgun would probably do a number on the scope's internal mechanism. You'd be better off buying a scope rated for a slug gun.
