What is my 10 gauge double barrel shotgun worth?
I have a side by side double barrel 10 gauge shotgun that I purchased new in 1975. It says on it....Made For Parker in Marixa Eibar Spain. I used it quite a bit years ago for goose hunting and painted it with a flat camo paint that should come off easily. It's been well cared for. I haven't used it in years and would like to sell it but have no idea what the value might be. I contacted a local gun shop but they were no help and offered me next to nothing for it sight unseen. Any ideas?? Thanks.

- man i would say a lot!!!!
- $25000
- Spanish double shotguns just dont bring a lot of money used... and if you are not in a region were that shotgun could be used or lacks popular acceptance that hurts you even more. You are going to stumble over a buyer who want a gun just like that to move it at any price... wholesale... I might give $200 for it... and would be happy if I could get $500 for it. Dont go to hard on the gunshop... rack space costs money... and we wont put a gun in the rack if we dont think we can sell it. why dont you take up goose hunting again? Ya already own a shotgun.
- I owned a similar shotgun that was made in Spain and imported and sold by Armsport. It was in 99% condition and I sold it about 3 years ago for $450. That's about the street price for such a shotgun. You have to bear in mind a few things. First, everyone wants a "Rambo" gun these daze; CAR-15, AK-47, etc.. So, the market is a little soft for traditional sporting arms. Second, you will need to find someone that has a real use for a 10 gauge. A turkey hunter or a goose hunter. But, ever since the 3 1/2" 12 gauge came along, it has been crowding-out the 10 gauge scene. (You can shoot the $4 a box 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge shells to practice with the 12 ga super magnums to save money...but you can't do that with the mighty 10 ga..) 10 gauge ammo is expensive and it never goes on sale.
