Can I get gauges (stretched earlobes) as a male Marine poolee? I enlisted in the Marines with no piercings. I leave in three months and want to get my ears pierced and gauged (stretched) slightly before then. I am a male, and I fully understand that they need to be removed by the time I go to basic, and have no problem doing that. Is it against policy and regulations to do that while in delayed entry if they will be removed before basic? It's definitely not a priority by any means or anything, nor would it somehow be a giant target if I'm not wearing them for when I leave. I was checking if that was part of the contract is all, and since I'm not willing in any way to risk my goal of becoming a Marine, I was simply checking the rules. Thanks for the help all.
What's the name of the great little marine supply store in downtown Amsterdam (Netherlands)? It's all wooden on the inside...has nautical gauges and marine supplies. Quasi-geared toward tourists. Within walking distance (15-25 minutes) of Centraal. Great little place, but I can't seem to find it online.
what type of 12 gauge shotgun shell does the Marine Corps use for training exercises? do they use the same ammo that they use for real combat missions or do they have a practice shell? wow, alex you have no idea wtf you are talking about. yeah every Marine is a rifleman, but they most certainly DO use shotguns...and machine guns, and grenades, and handguns, and rocket launchers.
Can you have gauges going into the Marines? Because of my stunning good looks, Way of the sword?
Is there a marine outboard tachometer that will work for a 2 cylinder engine? I am looking for a tachometer for an 2 cylinder (HIGH REVVING, gauge should go to 10,000 RPM) marine outboard. I need to find one for a racing boat. thanks a lot!
Could you become a marine biologist with tattoos and piercings? I plan on getting a half sleeve and probably a chest piece as well. And I already have gauged ears, and I don't know if that will make it harder for me to become a marine biologist >__< i<3ryan(:
How can I get my gauges to close quickly? I started stretching my ears back in April 2010. I hadn't had my ears pierced for more than a month before. i got up to a 0, but now I need them to close since I'm enlisting in the Marine Corps. I've taken them out for almost a month and a half, and I could probably still fit 4's in them. I've tried letting them shrink, and then stretching again to get them to close faster, but all it did was slow down the stretching process. Does anyone know how to get them to close really quickly?
Is there an O gauge MARINE CORPS train set? I would like to do a Marine Corps Train set. I have searched the internet for something like it. I have found other branch train set and I could use a Navy set but I haven't found one I like. I prefer O gauge (1/48 scale) but would consider other sizes. Another option is are there any train sets out there that are made to be customized? You apply decals to the train to make it what you want. I could go that route too.
how to close up gauges? im trying to get into the marine corps. but i need my gauges to close up COMPLETELY. it used to be at a 1/2 inch but i kept cutting it and its now at a 10 and possibly a 12 but it got really small. i just dont know how to close it completely. any suggestions?
What sensitive marine organism will die from only miniscule changes in water temperature, PH or salinity, an? and now serves as a gauge for environmental change and has come to be protected in many countries? I need an answer that specifically meets all criteria
Why does my kicker marine amp keep blowing fuses? I have just started this project and haven't had time to trouble shoot... But I installed my ZXM350.4 in my boat and as soon as I plugged the power wires in, it blew the two 20amp fules in the amp. I'm using 4 gauge wire as power and ground. The manual calls for 8. Could the larger power wires be causing the fuses to blow?
Which parts of the asvab should I focus on to become a marine combat engineer? I have visited a number of sites and keep getting conflicting details. The site military.com says it's numerical operations, auto and shop information, mechanical comprehension, and electronics information. About.com and instantasvab.com says general science, auto and shop, mathematics knowledge, and mechanical comprehension. And I can't find it now but I also read somewhere that it was paragraph comprehension, arithmetic reasoning, mathematics knowledge, and word knowledge. I'm seeing my recruiter next week but I'd like to have this information before so I can better gauge where I am and what I need to do.
How long do 6g gauges take to heal up? I'm 15 and im at 6g keeping that i plan on joining the marines when im 17-18 so i need to lnow how long they take to close at this size so i know somewhat when to take them out. My ears heal really quick after a few days of switching sizes they fealt normal again. I went straight to 14g then 10g and 6g
How can I close my gauges FASTER? Well I'm trying to go into the Marines, but my recruiter said we can't even start the paper work until my ears close up. I got my ears pierced for the first time in October of 2011 and since then I've sized up to a 4. Is there anything I can rub on them or do to them to make the closing process faster?
marine fuel gauge troubleshooting? fuel gauge reads half full regardless of the amount of fuel.
I have size 0 gauges. I am wondering if I can go back to a regular earring size? I need to get back to a regular earring size because I am trying to apply to be an officer in the US Marines and the application said that if you have a ear hole big enough for light to pass through you are ineligible. Please help!!
Marine Fuel Gauge issue? My gauge works fine with I turn the key, but once I run the motor it goes down to "E". I am not sure if I have done something wrong. I did put in a new sender
need to close my gauges how would i go about it? going to the marines need them to close a little faster.
Question for Mercury Marine mechanic -? I have a 2004 Mercury 135hp Optimax Saltwater outboard (with Smartcraft computer system & gauges) that started doing something odd - Starts & idles fine, engine temp is normal, and good water pressure coming out the indicator hole. Then if I increase throttle and start to plane off, I see the engine temp start rising rapidly, and within a minute or so the Smartcraft gauge will flash "Reduce Engine Speed". When you reduce speed back down to idle or fast-idle, the temp starts dropping on the gauge gradually to normal. Yet it constantly is pumping a solid strong water stream when you run slow or faster. How could it only start to overheat when giving it the gas and speeding up? Occasionally, it will run high RPMs and plane off, run perfectly normal at high speed without overheating. I have only run the boat about 4 times Twice it has done this "overheat & reduce speed thing" to me, and the other 2 times it ran fine at all speeds (normal engine temp). This make ANY sense to any experienced Mercury marine mechanics out there? Thanks very much for any help you can provide. No I don't think I've ever had the water pump impeller done yet - good idea thanks, guess just have to get the mechanic to check the pump, the thermostat, and check for blockages inside the circulation tubes ?
what is the best material to make a router table top? i have read to use mdf 25mm and laminate the top, 18mm marine ply also the sink cut out of a kitchen worktop, this top will need to have a T track fitted into it for a mitre gauge and was going to bolt the router underneath without using a plate, i would then get an extension for the collet to get the bit to the right height. thanks in advance and open to critisism dan the brick man- wher can i buy this stuff?
my gauges are a size 2 can i close them? hi i have both of my ears gauged to a two one of them has a blow out in the front it is fairly small but i would like to close them for a future carrer in the marines i am wondering if my ear can close toa at least a regular ear piersing and how my blowout would bee effected if they heal
Can I charge 4 identical 115 aH deep cycle batteries with a single trickle charger? I have wired the four batteries in parallel with #4 gauge copper terminal connectors to run my inverter. I am wondering if they discharge in parallel, can I recharge them in parallel, with with the 800micro amp trickle charger I have, or even a larger charger to recharge them quicker? And if I choose to purchase a larger marine battery deep cycle charger, what would you recommend? Thanks!
Marine Aquarium Water Question? I am new to saltwater aquariums, I have had freshwater tanks my whole life. I just started my 100 gallon marine aquarium. I have the following equipment: -Fluval 405 canister filter (appropriate for 100 gallon tank) -2 piggyback filters (can support a 100 gallon tank on their own) -Heater -Protein Skimmer -2 powerheads -live sand I filled up my tank with water and mixed it with salt and dechlorinator. I added my regular sand and then live sand on top. The water became extremely cloudy and since then has cleared up. There was still a green tint in the tank, so i did a 10% water change. I have waited 24 hours and I feel it should be crystal clear, but it still has a tint. I checked the salinity using the gravity water gauge and it is perfect. I am in no major rush to get fish in there, because I know the whole process shouldn't be rushed, but I want to get the water clear. What can I do?
What are the odds of my getting accepted into Marine OCS? I've been out of college for a little more than a year now and am starting to really regret my decision to attend college rather than join the military. I've wanted to be a Marine since I was a little kid but it seemed every time I got close to taking that final leap something else came up. I would love to attend Marine OCS because I think it's something I could definetely accomplish. My worry is that my moral character, as depicted on paper, isn't too hot. I was arrested once as a freshman for possessing alcohol underage and I have done a few drugs in the past, though I haven't had any slip-ups over the last three years or so. I understand that the Marines only want to bring upstanding people into their fold, especially as far as officers go. It just frustrates me because I know I'm a decent human being who would never even entertain the thought of doing something stupid while a member of the military. Anyway, I was wondering if someone with some experience in these matters may be able to help me gauge what my chances would be of getting accepted into OCS, supposing I was able to get a spectacular PFT score. Thanks. james
Does anyone have any thought on the Remington 870 Marine Magnum? Last time I shot shotgun I didn't do particularly well, The first pump I shot had slugs sight, and the second one kicked like a mule, so I switched off to a large Remington 1100 12 gauge, with an even tighter choke and shot better. In your personal experience, which shotgun is more accurate, the Remington 1100 12 guage synthetic, or the Remington 870 Marine Magnum, from what I can remember, I shot 19/20 with that gun, albeit on a small range with standard traps. But, if I remember correctly, the Marine Magnum kicked less than the 9mm carbine I was shooting, So I would like to pose a question, which gun kicks less, and which gun is more accurate? Well I planned on using this for home defense with 000 buck shot and some bird shot and a tighter choke for clay pigeon.
I need some info about becoming a US Marine? My name is Michael and im 16, I have size 00 gauges and 3 tattoos on my upper thigh they are small tattoos. they are hidden by my boxers. I was wondering if this will get in the way of anything, Would I have to wait for my gauges to fully heal or just take them out and go with holes in my lobes? I plan on going to a reqruiter with my parents when im 17 as I want to go as soon as I can Btw im not a weirdo just because i have gauges, I went along with the style I can close them I have done it before I took my gauges out, they will heal they have before and they were the same size

What are acceptable piercings while in the Marine Corps DEP? Need help!? I enlisted in the marines and understand that no tattoos are allowed at all until after boot camp, and no sleeves or anything like that either. I haven't been able to find or hear anything about piercing policy though. I leave for boot camp in 3 months and want to pierce and gauge my ears (not very big, maybe a 4 or 2). They should be able to heal enough to be acceptable if I take them out before basic. I haven't had a chance to contact my recruiter yet and was wondering if you have any links or information that I can't seem to find. I understand you're not allowed to wear them in uniform, the question is can you get gauges in your ears while in the delayed entry program. I'm willing to take them out, and they can still heal at that size, but I'd like to do it before i even get a uniform. I'm not asking for training ideas or your opinion on if I should get gauges or not. I'm asking what the rules about this state because I can't find them. Any answers about that aspect of my question are GREATLY appreciated. I appreciate that response. But I'm not sure if I'm legally bound with piercings the way I am tattoos. I've been told I cannot get tattoos until after basic, and there's the chance that gauging my ears can be permanent also. The Marine Corps doesn't want any markings that are identifiable in uniform, and if the holes in my ears somehow don't heal at the small gauge, it may be considered noticeable.
Which Remmington model should I purchase? Im looking into buying a Remmington 870 12 gauge shot gun for recreational shooting and home defense (but mostly recreational shooting). Their are many models such as the wingmaster and express but those only hold four rounds (6 would be best). Then there are the tactical and marine but those have do not have the blue metal or wood finishes. So the question would be: Which remmington model would be best?
Do you have a choice in what MOS you want in the Marines? Does the corp choose it for you, if they are lacking here or there or gauge where you are most suited or do you have a choice? I read at marines.com that there are 3 paths to choose, aviation, ground and i think that was jag or law. I want to be in the aviation thats why i am asking. Does being in the aviation, specifically the pilots require being an officer?
how do i wire a marine radio in a boat if there are no wires for the radio? i have a 1985 wellcraft 182 american and the boat never had a radio .so this year im tired of using my i phone so im thinking of putting one in .i need to run a wire to the battery but i do not know what gauge ,or what kind of in line fuse to use .i also need a on off switch for the radio cuz im doing it the cheap way and not going to buy another battery ..i kow how to hook the speakers up i jus need help getting the head unit in
What type of gun should I get? I'm looking to get a new gun. As of now i don't have any but my dad has a 12 gauge shotgun. I was trying to figure out what type to get just to go shoot with out at some land my dad has, and I want to be a marine one day, so if anyone has suggestions on types of guns, brands, or models that would be great, thank you
Your thoughts on entertainment? People Of The Hunting Section! I do some strange crap in my down time. Most of it, now that I look back at it, is just plain bizarre. I enjoy taking distress signals discarded from cruise ships and setting them off in my street. And some more things involving certain energetic chemical reactions. But lately, that has been getting repetitive. So I thought back to some gun shows. I noticed that you can pick up a Czech 26.5mm flare gun for $9-10 but the flares run about $50 for a 10 pack. I know that it isn't that hard to get a 12 gauge conversion sleeve to fire marine flares. My plan is get a gun, a sleeve and one pack of true 26.5mm flares (red multi star) to try them out and then boat loads of 12 gauge marine flares. I now ask you : Do you think this is a good idea or should I just get a 12 gauge flare gun set to begin with? Thank You All! VLD : I've thought about that too and tried it but there is something about the very edge of those flares that won't let them chamber in a shotgun. It's weird but I think they intentionally did that. Merc43 : Thanks a ton for pointing that out! Jesus, and I thought gun shows were rip offs. These prices I kinda set the bench mark of were from last weeks gun show from some surplus guy.
Hermit Crab Supplies? Hello. I have a ten gallon aquarium with a canopy, gravel, climbing vines, 2 inches worth of coconut fibre for 2.5 gallon tank, 2.5 gallon tank, half-log, natural shells, igloo,3 shell bowls, and 2 day heat bulbs. I know that I need sand, mister, Temperature Gauge, humidity gauge, marine salt, 2 water bowls, more climbing stuff, hermit crabs, and calcium. Did I miss anything? I'm going the natural way for food. Pictures of good crabitats are needed, same as websites. (note: the gravel is for the eating\ drinking area so they can't get as much substrate into their eaters and food. It will only be in one sixth of the tank.) The gravel is only for the water and eating area only! I know that they can't molt in gravel so I'm using both sand and coconut fibre! Good care videos also needed. Please more answers. Good care videos also needed. Please more answers.
can you have guged ears and join the marines? ok i want to join the marines in a couple of yeard when im downe with school but i want to gauge my ears to 00 if i dnt wear them on duty will i still b able to join with the wholes n my ear?
Are guns allowed on military bases? I am going to join the US Marine Corps and i was wondering if while on base is the barracks i was allowed to keep my own personal guns. And if i was allowed to keep them on me. If it matters i have a Kar 98, AK 47, Saiga 12 gauge, Lee Enfield. a m1911, and a S&W 500 magnum.
If you could snap your fingers and have the 10 guns on the top of your list, what would they be? Mine would be: 1- Springfield M1 Garand .30-06 2- Ruger No. 1 .204 Ruger SS w/gray laminate stock 3- Marlin 1895 Cowboy .45-70 4- Remington R-9 .308 Mossy Oak 5- Remington 870 Marine Magnum 12 gauge w/pistol grip composite stock 6- CZ 12 gauge Coach Gun 7- Colt WW2 1911 .45 8- Night Hawk GRP 1911 .45 9- S&W 629 6" .44 magnum 10- Remington 700 BDL .243 What about you fellers?
What is this "firm" spot where my gauge used to be? So I am attempting to join the Marine Corp and one of the requirements is that I have zero piercings and the holes be gone 100%. I had size 8 gauges in and I have taken them out. The left ear feels normal but the right ear has like a firm or maybe considered hard spot where the gauge used to be. I don't know if it was the tapers rubber band (thing that makes them stay on) our if I have some small infection. I believe it is the rubber band because it doesn't hurt or anything it is just annoying and won't close right for me to join the Marine Corp. How do I get the rubber band out, do I have to et back to the 8 size so I can just pull it out or can I just do it another way? I don't want to go to a doctor or anything I just want it gone. Is there a way to do it without regauging so I can continue allowing the ear holes to close? Thank you very much! I will give 5 stars to answer that works.
i recently came into ownership of a 78 corvette, and i needed some assistance on restoring it.? my biggest priority is my gauges, the interior needs some TLC and thats fine. Im currently stationed in Marine Corps Base Hawaii and I dont know what the auto shops are like out in town so I wanted to at least fix my speedometer and my other gauges first. If theres any corvette guru's out there, help is very much appreciated. my email is allexpoole@yahoo.com and I can post and send pictures if needed. I just need some help with my gauges first.
Gauged ears need emergency closing for marines help!? Im joining the marines im doing 0321 reconnaissance, however in order for me to take my oath at MEPS i have to let my ears close up because they don't want any light going thru the holes. they were at a 0g i took them out about 2 weeks ago n ow they're about a 10g but if i wanna leave by the 3rd of next month they have to close faster than that. is there anything i can use to make them shrink faster? maybe scar cream? thanks in advance.
Which handgun round is comparable to a 12 gauge shell? Hey, I worked at a local swat like team in here and I carry a Remington marine magnum 6shell stack loaded and pistol grip shot gun as a primary gun. My commander once told me to use a HKUSP as a secondary pistol and told its good but when it nearly killed me when I needed more than five shots into the torso of my slightly armored shooter that shot me once and I shot him eight or so since I was nervous and clearly my commander had rather failed to protect me. Any ways do any of you know about a pistol or a handgun round that can do the same as my Remington marine magnum tactical shot gun and which gun would shot it the best. Particularly I say it should be able to kill a those type 1, 2 and 3 armored targets in one shot in almost all directions, carry a decent amount of ammo per clip although those twenty round pistols that need not even kill three from the whole clip are useless larger capacity would mean I could use it as a primary gun as well as a secondary and it should not give high recoil case the shot I took is for my right arm. It is very important for me to know it and you can answer by emailing me or at yahoo answering buttons. Give all sources.
Gossamer for one light year ? Assuming one could accurately gauge the weight of a length of spider's gossamer what size of railway or marine engine would be needed to haul enough to reach one light year?
What AWG for speakers and sub and amp? Hello, This week I am installing speakers, amp, and sub into my 17ft boat. I ordered everything except for the wiring but I do not know what to get. I know I need marine grade wiring and good quality wiring for best sound. I got for MTX 4 channel amp, the kicker marine sub woofer with their marine sub box and 4 infinity marine speakers ( http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108612M/Infinity-612M.html?search=infinity+marine+speakers) My question is what gauge or AWG should I get for the speakers and amp and sub. I want the thinnest possible wire so its easier to hide in the corners but I want good sound. Is it different AWG for the speakers than it is for the Sub? Thanks for all the help!! Also after i order the wiring, is that everything I need? Am I missing anything other than a head source unit witch I ordered...?
Colonial Marines (Aliens)Pulse Rifle vs Mobile Infantry (Starship Troopers) Morita Rifle? Morita Assault Rifle 7.62mm ammunition (.308 caliber) 160 round magazine and 8 gauge 3.5 12 round semi automatic shotgun. Pulse Rifle 10mm x 24 Caseless light armor piercing 99 round magazine and 4 round 30 mm grenade launcher which gun do you think is better?

what appropach should i take into the marines? Ive got a strong work ethic, great leader ship skills (so ive been told by numerous authorities), and i played lots of sports including pop warner football and high school basketball. I own 2 12 gauge shotguns and i know the marines main weapon is the m4 or the m16, so i was thinking about getting some more gun practice but wasnt sure what to purchase. i was thinking about buying a ruger 10 22 and making it tactical to get good accuracy practice, or purchase a .308 and practice long distance shooting if chose to enter as a sniper. Or will the marines give me enough weapon time as it is? thanks for the help. :) Well justin, im 17 and so to the other people that have answered this questoin, you are saying that i shouldnt get familiar with any other weapons?
which is the intake valve and axhaust valve of catepillar 3160 engine? what is the precise gauge of the intake valve and tha exhaust valve?the engine is a catepillar diesel marine engine 3160
I have my left and right ear gauged to 0g/8.251mm. I plan on enlisting in the marines.? Im in 10th grade right now and I plan on enlisting into the marines. Before I enlist I will take my piercings off and they will shrink and get smaller. But I will still have my ears pierced. The actual hole where I pierced my ear wont ever go away. As a male I know you cant wear jewelry while on duty. But I heard you cant even go to the marines with your ears pierced. Is it true you cant even have them pierced? So that means I cant enlist in the marines?
Auxiliary battery and Isolator? Hi all, I recently purchased a Stinger SR80 80 Amp Isolator. In my Setup I have two 80A AGU Fuses with 4 gauge wiring. This runs from my starting battery through the first fuse under the hood, and my plan was to hook the isolator up in my trunk before my Marine battery. After the marine battery I plan on using a second 80A AGU fuse, then I am going to run the wire into my Memphis 1000D amplifier. Does this sound like the correct configuration? Also, my second question: Where would I hook up the ignition source? should I run it into my wiring harness using the remote wire or is there a place near the alternator? For a diagram of my isolator visit stingerelectronics.com under tech department. Thanks, Ray

Need Career Advice? I am a retired active duty Marine. My job in the Marines was that of a Personnel Administration Chief. I now have an Associates Degree in Bus Admin/Management, and am having a difficult time finding employment in the HR community without: a) Bachelor's Degree b) the PHR, SPHR or similar credentials. Should I be applying to jobs that specify they require B.S./B.A. and the aforementioned credentials given all my work and leadership experience, and let the employer gauge my worthiness for the jobs? Or, should I just consider a new career? I am very frustrated.
Military/Coast Guard? I want to join the Marines as a Machine Gunner (0351). Im in pretty good shape and can shoot pretty good too; but thats w/ a 12 gauge, not some 240G or .50 Cal. I recently got engaged to a girl Ive been w/ for a long time, a really long time for a high school relationship. Ive always wanted to join the Corps since back in middle school, didnt really know what I wanted to do til later on but still. Looking for people w/ experience or 2nd hand knowledge here please... -How long are Marine deployments w/ the Wars in the Middle East going on? -How hard does it effect a marraige, especially newlyweds? -Will it be hard for her to go to college if Im always having to move stations ever 2 years or so? -And would joining the Coast Guard be better for family life versus the Marines? I would much rather be in the Corps, but if itll help my life, and hers, that much then yeah. ----- If you havnt noticed, Im an upperclassmen in high school just trying to get a couple ?s answered. Thanks
fuses go boom!? i have a AudioBahn 1206T subwoofer and and a SPL Phantom DK2-1000 watt amp. I was running 8 gauge power wire, i kept blowing inline fuses. so i stepped up to 4 gauge wire. Now i am blowing the 25A fuses on my amp. I am running a cap also. I put a 60A inline in and blew it (i normally run 80A) and 30A in the amp. The 30s blew when i put the 80A back in. So im assuming im running between 60A and 80A. I have a marine battery in my truck and when heavy bass hits it drops the volts down to like 10. so would this be a battery problem? I can run the stereo fine very low like under 20. Over that and the fuses blow on the amp so im pretty sure the amp itself is fine. Any Suggestions?
can someone help me with this???read further? Respected readers u can call me the turbanator. I need ur help for getting admission in to a college for marine engineering.Ok this college is pvpcoe mumbai for ur knowledge sake. now the problem is that along with the consideration of the HSC marks these ppl also will be having an interview to gauge the communication skills of the canditates and the total no of seats are 40.I have absolutely no problem with comm skills cos i was giving interviews for international call centres during my vacations which has taught me a lot. I had a word with the marine engg head over there and he told me that i have good possibilities of getting admission but the thing they gonna ask me in the interview ,i am totally blank abt it. They gonna ask me things like- why i want to get admission into marine engg? what keeps the ship afloat? and in short every basic thing abt the fuctionality of ship which can be asked at the time of interview. I will be really greatful to u'all if u could help me with this or provide me with some webpage which contains suitable information. And i would be happier if any marine engg answers my question.and also don't forget to mention your email id in ur answer to me so that i could send each and every one a gmail invitation as a small token of respect and thanks...in case u already have one ......its ok u don't need to do so.I will be looking forward for your answers. And one more thing-------please don't feel bad "just don't answer for the heck of it" It can be the question of my career. God bless you'all. astalavista........ The turbanator.
How do I close my 3/4" gauges? So I'm joining the marines as soon as I get out of high school, but the only thing holding me back atm is my earlobes. I mean sure I could pay about a grand to get them sewn up, but is there another way I could go about this? thanks:)
2004 Crestliner Fish Hawk 1750? I own a 2004 Crestliner Fish Hawk 1750 and the fuel gauge stopped working. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. I know it is getting power for when I turn the ignition on the needle jumps a little. The needle is not stuck as I took the bezel off to be sure. I propped it with a 9V battery and the gauge responded. Any ideas that will save me from having a marine tech look at it? The fuel sensor on the tank is in a terrible place to get to and would require a lot of work. I have not eliminated the gauge as I don't know how to properly test it. I only wanted to determine if it moved or if it was physically stuck which it was not. Is their a diagnostic proceedure for this?
Am I missing anything? Question about hermit crabs? Ok so I made a shopping list for hermit crab supplies here is my petco list: 1.Zoo med dual thermometer and humidity gauge, Sand and Dirt, T-Rex Climbing Wall, Hermit Crab Food, Marine Salt, Under Tank Heater, Fake Plants for them to climb on, Water Pillows, 2 bowls for freshwater and salt water. This is my list at the store where I will by my hermit crabs: 2 hermit crabs, food bowl, 2 sponges, and hermit crab food. You probably noticed that I put hermit crab food on there twice thats because I am going to see who has the better hermit crab food petco, or the hermit crab store. I already have a tank to put them in. Am I missing anything?
Advice on Joining the Military? Okay, I'm going to try and give a lot of detail, but mainly I just want some advice (preferably from those with military experience) on which branch of the military I should join, and what path I should take within that branch. I am 20 years old (21 in June) and am in my second semester of college (major: Mechanical Engineer). I'm not sure if it matters, but hours-wise I am a sophomore (but I will be in college for at least the next 3 years, most likely 4). My grandpa was in the Army until he retired. I have always had enormous respect for anyone in the military. It seems very honorable to me. I think I have narrowed down my choices to either the Army or the Marines. Being in college, college benefits do play a factor, though it won't be the main determining factor. I took a year off after high school to attend a leadership internship with a Christian ministry. Long story short, because of that year off and some other factors (now including a very rough first semester of college gpa-wise), I basically had almost no scholarships for college (which I was originally expecting). I graduated as a valedictorian and received a 29 on my ACT. I forget exactly what I made on my ASVAB, but it was something in the 80s or 90s. So now I am basically going to college almost completely on loans and I feel pretty uneasy about that. Do you have any advice on the best way to join the military while in college? I am interested in NROTC, but I don't know much about it. I attend LSU. After looking at the options as far as going enlisted, warrant officer (Army), and commissioned officer, I think I have decided on commissioned officer. It actually seems like a pretty hard decision to me though. I feel like enlisted is what I normally think of when I think about joining the military. In my research I have seen it said a few times that warrant officer gets the best of both worlds. But being a commissioned officer seems to make the most sense. If I were to go enlisted, I would want to move to CO (the abbreviation I'm using for "commissioned officer") at some point, but as I understand it, this would take quite a few years to accomplish. At this point, I am not planning on the military being my career (though that could change). Warrant officer sounds good, but I don't think I like the idea of being "stuck" in a certain field. Going in as a commissioned officer seems to make sense, but in some ways I feel like I shouldn't have a position like that without experience as enlisted. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure both branches know what they are doing concerning this. I would expect that I would be trained in such a way that I would be a valuable leader to soldiers who have more experience than I do. As far as my job, I have been looking at Combat Engineer (Marines) or some sort of Engineer Officer (Army). As a civilian career, I am interested in design, but I don't really know what kind of job I want after my service. I want to be able to help in combat, though I would also like something that would help advance my civilian career. Should a direct connection to a civilian job be a requirement in your opinion? I'm leaning towards no. I feel that it is important to do something that I find fulfilling. I know that every job is extremely important to the whole process, but I don't want to be stuck watching gauges on machines and doing maintenance. I like a very hands-on approach to solving problems. I know this is a lot, but I would greatly appreciate the advice (especially of those who have already been in my position). John P.S. I am a little curious about the physical requirements. Do you have to be able to pass whatever the physical tests are when you sign up, or at a later date? I've heard that they do something like a weekly exercise that helps you get prepared for basic. This last (school) year, I would wake up at 5 am and do core workouts along with a 2 mile run at least once a week, with periods of doing it 3 times a week (with the occasional 5-7 mile run through the woods on Saturdays). At that time, I was around 160 lbs. Since I've been in college... I've basically just been packing on fat. I'm around 180 (about 5'9") now and rarely run or exercise. It would be beneficial to know whether I need to get this back in control before I sign up or if I can work on it during my time at college.

Why does Obama & Napolitano have border agents armed with rubber bullets & beanbags are Mexicans that harmless? The following reports are unconfirmed 2nd or 3rd hand accounts, but come from three different sources that have all been credible in the past. I was told twice today that Border Patol Agent Brian A. Terry, who was killed on December 14th, was armed with “bean-bag rounds.” "Bean bag rounds" are used when a person is a danger to himself or others, but is not a direct threat in such a manner that lethal force would be appropriate. The round is intended to disable or stun the person without killing them. 50% of cases are when the assailant has a bladed weapon. Another source related to me that Terry “had a 12 gauge with rubber bullets.” That is, a 12 gauge shotgun with rubber bullets, as opposed to OO buckshot, for example. Either way, if correct, Agent Terry was armed with a “non-lethal” weapon in an area so dangerous that only the elite agents of BORTAC were allowed to patrol. What gives? Did he have his M-4 rifle with him as well? Don’t know. Terry was a Marine, so of course he joined BORTAC. One person said to me this morning, "They armed a warrior with a water pistol." Recently, agents in the area west of Rio Rico spotted the thugs who were suspected of ripping off the drug mules and of multiple rapes. 2 or 3 times agents radioed in that they could “take these guys.” But, they were told by their supervisors multiple times to disengage, “We want to take them alive.” “Taking them alive” could be just an excuse to get the agents to back off so there would be no gun play. http://www.examiner.com/immigration-in-san-francisco/rubber-bullets-for-agent-terry%20

Each magazine fed rifle has 17 manufacturer made magazines to go with it, except the Barrett which only has 5, because I only shoot that thing once a week because the ammunition is way to expensive to go trigger happy like I do with my other weapons. The G20, 870 and MP5/10 have tactical lights attached to them. The AIAW and Barrett have a Leupold Mark 4 3.5 10x40mm LR/T M1 illum. recticle scope on each of them. Intended for 1000 yard+ shooting. Let's not even get started at the amount of ammunition for each caliber I have...My paycheck goes towards bills, food, and weapons. I own two U.S. Marine Corps issued Ka Bar fighting/utility knives, two pairs of top quality nunchaku and a Thaitsuki Dokuji Nami Sanmai katana, my most prized possession. Worth every single penny I paid for it. Waited a good 5 months for the damn thing, too! I am a fan of single manned weapons. I served 4 years in the Marine Corps. I enlisted and went to boot camp Parris Island when I was 17 years of age. I am now 23. I was 0311 rifleman, and did two tours in Afghanistan. I have been thinking of re-enlisting, because I feel I left the Corps to soon and I miss the thrill of the job. But that is not related to this question. What is your opinion of my collection? Jealous? LOL. If you do not believe that I own these weapons, email me at dantheman228833@yahoo.com and I will send you pictures of any gun you want with anything you request to put in the picture to prove that I was the one who took it.
why watercock opened first after blowing down boiler gauge glass? question concerned with marine boiler operation
How can I alleviate back aches when running? I'm training for Marine Corps OCS coming up next summer and I've been running three miles to gauge my fitness. Some days, I'm alright and I don't suffer from aches in my back while running. Most days, however, I'm forced to stop and walk for 10-15 seconds and wait for the pain to go away. Is it a lack of focused stretchingg? A bad running posture? Poor shoes? (I don't think this is the problem because I purchased running shoes with a running specialist). Thanks!

What would be a good shotgun for a 12 yo boy who weighs about 90 lbs. For duck hunting? Or do you think he is too small to handle even an 20 gauge? We are planning to go duck hunting next season with our new Lab puppy (10 months right now)...the boy wants to try it....well he has never fired a shotgun (only bee bee and a .22 single shot, so no kick there...lol)...Just looking for recommendations or experiences...I hunted a s a kid and am a former Marine so am very comfortable/proficient around fire arms.
Why does my boat horn only pop softly when pressed? I am trying to fix the horn on my 1996 Larson SEI 174 boat. The horn just makes this little pop noise whenever I hit the horn button so I figured I needed to replace it. Bought a new marine 12V horn (stainless steel) and hooked it up and got the same sound (just a little pop). After this, I decided to buy a new switch relay and run all new 14 gauge wire to see if it was something wrong in the wiring. Hooked a new ground wire up and a new wire to a new 5 amp fuse and then to the horn. Put in the new switch and connected it all and got the same pop. What else could need to be changed to get the horn to actually make some noise?
Shotgun questions.. If you had only one to choose.. but not the entry models...? I don't have a need for a lot of guns but I want that base collection for home protection and a 'what if' scenario. What I have now is a solid cz 75 and now looking at a very solid 12 gauge to complete my very small collection (I may add a .22 later on) Other than that, these two should protect the home and even do some hunting if need be. I don't have a ton to spend but willing to spend a little extra to avoid cheaply made shotguns. Not interested in a mossy 500 or the Winchester 870 (I know they are fine but call me a snob, I want a step up, but I would consider the Winchester in Marine finish though) Which ones would you consider under $800? Lower end Benelli? What about Beretta? Don't know much about Stoeger or Weatherby.. What is the best, super solid shotgun that isn't entry level? Think shorter barrel and live close to the ocean Thanks guys.
What hunting gun should I invest in and why? I am needing some more information about different hunting guns. I am interested in buying in the next couple of weeks but have little background to which gun is better at doing what. I am a sniping fanatic...matter of fact when I get out of high school Im going to train to be a Marine Scout Sniper. Furthermore, I am looking for a hunting gun that will have the lowest kick, with the max. distance, accuracy, and just overall the best hunting tool for starting out. I would definitely want a low-kick rifle that would have a great scope on. And for shotguns I think a 20-gauge is best right now. I just needed some more information and facts about hunting rifles to help me find out which one is right for me. Thanks!
Boat stereo cutting out when bass hits.? I have read previous Q & A's that people have made in the past regarding the stereos and the same issue but I thought i'd get specific with myset up and ask for help. Please note this system was put together by parts/components from other previous systems ive had in cars. Currently in the boat I have: JVC kd head unit. 1 2 channel Almani 1100 wt amp. 2 12" Kicker C12 comp subs. 2 6.5" Rockford Fosgate Prime speakers in front 2 6.5" M162 Rockford Fosgate marine speakers on the sides. The 4 speakers are hooked directly to the rear of the head unit making the subs the only thing connected to the amp. For the amp, I ran 4 gauge power and ground directly to the battery. Originally for the head unit, I used the stock power and ground wires but found there was not enough power to handle the new load, so I ran new power and ground lines directly to the battery as well. I have tried multiple things to try and solve this issue, but everytime I turn the volume up to a decent level (not even that loud) the sound always cutts out when the bass hits. My question to you is, what am I doing wrong? Have I wired it incorrectly? Am I drawing to much power? Should I wire the speakers to the amp and just use one sub? Any response would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Josh
My Pecula Clown Fish don't swim about? I'm new to marine fish keeping since before xmas and I have bought 2 Clown fish 1 is common and the other is black. I bought the black 1 first and he was swimming around fine. After a week I introduced a commom clown. They have been together 1 week now and in the last 2 days they are not swimming about instead they are huddled together behind my temp gauge. I don't know what is going on because they have been fine for 5 days swimming around very fast and seemed very happy.
M1 Garand vs. Grizzly Bear, who wins? I have been stockpiling on guns, I now have 4 AR-15's, 2 DPMS .308 Panther rifles, 2 Galil's, 1 Bulgarian AK-47, 1 Mosin Nagant WWII rifle, 1895 Nagant revolver, 1 .38 Special S&W revolver, 1 RIA 1911 .45 acp, and 1 Mossberg 590 12 gauge shotgun. Last week I received my M1 Garand rifle from the CMP, the rifle that the greatest generation carried into WWII, the Old' Faithful M1 Garand in 30-06. When I hold this rifle in my hands, I know that I'm holding real authority and I can't wait to shoot it tomorrow at my gun range. If a 600 lb. Grizzly bear decided to attack me and I had Old' Faithful in my hands, will I and Old' Faithful plus my U.S. Marine training prevail against the beast? I will be using military issued 147 grain-150 grain 30-06 FMJ ammo and 10 8 round en bloc clips.
So you want to hear some war stories heh? I see a lot of "want to be" heroes talking about how much they want to be a Marine or a Navy SEAL, and they ask about stories and what not. Well, I figured I'd give you a couple. 2003 Iraq - Me and my men were ordered to to take control of an old, worn hotel full of insurgents. The hotel was 5 stories high and there were sheets and towels covering a lot of the windows so it was quite hard to see if there were shooters in the windows, but that's just part of it. Me and my men (8 of them) were lying behind a hill about 300 yards away. We spotted out the building with binoculars and some with their M16s. OF course I saw a couple of bad guys in the windows, but we had to wait for them to be hidden so we could make our move. Well any who, besides all the boring mumbo jumbo, we started to make our way from one cover to the next in hope that we wouldn't be seen by any insurgents. Suprisingly we made it to the front doors of our destinating without being shot at. That was the plan, to get there undetected. So far so good. Well, we had to make out way in, so we quickly opened the door and threw three smokes inside and rushed in. I saw one who was leaning on the wall smoking a cigarette and quickly grabbed his AK and I got him twice in the head which quickly disfigured his face with brains and blood that flew seemingly more than normal. There were only two others in the lobby, but they were of course taken care of by my trusty brethern Rusty and Willaims. We check the rest of the lobby and called out, "CLEAR!" We check the rest of the bottom floor the rooms and everything. It was all clear on the bottom, and before we made out way up, we went and got what we could of the ammo left behind. I went over to the poor soul with half a face blown off from bullets and I grabbed a grenade he had a nice knife that I used later. :P So we made our way up. The second story, had a couple scared guys that were laying on the floor with their guns in front of them sayings something in their language. We knew they were surrendering so we tied them up and blindfolded them and sent them out to our men waiting in the lobby for captives. It's always good to be on the winning side, whether you had to kill to stay alive or just capture, and it's way better to not have to take a life. Moving on, 3rd floor was empty ,"CLEAR!" 4rth floor was when it got sticky. We came up the stairs and there was a locked door. None had been locked up to this point, in fact most of the rooms didn't have doors. So this is always a problem, because you don't know what's going to be behind it. But our job was to clear the whole buidling so here we go. We set a device on the knob, and SGT Flasky called out, "15 seconds" We all made our way away from the door, and then, "BOOM!" Smoke is everywhere and wood chips all over the place. We align against the wall awaiting to ambush the room when all of the sudden an insurgent starts screaming, and he runs out into the hallway where we were with his AK and starts shooting everywhere blindly, and SGT Richards blows his shoulder off with his Mossenberg 500 12 gauge. His arm falls to the ground with his gun in hand, and he is still alive and screaming. He reaches for his gun with his other hand and Williams finishes him off with one shot to the head. We toss some grenades into the room to hopefully finish off anyone left. We make our way in to see some dead bodies with missing limbs and pools of blood all over the place. I came to one guy and his bottom half was detached and his stomach was visible. He was shaking and still alive so I ended his misery. On to the fith floor, where a grenade was lobbed at us. Obviously they didn't hold it for seconds before that, because we had to time to throw it out the window. (Normaly we would duck for cover, but the grenade had fallen between us and the nearest cover was ten feet away so SGT Starks made a quick decision on that one). Well, we eventually finished off the last two guys, which one had another RPG that he didn't use. Not sure why. If he did we would have been killed. Anywho, how's that for a war story? this isn't true
O.K. PEOPLE... WHAT DO YOU DO IF SOME NUT AIM'S A GUN AT YOU? Well let's start with things you DON'T DO - for example: stand still and give the shooter a clear target ! The very 1st thing you do is MOVE ! Duck down, or move quickly first to the right (or left) then keep zig-zagging toward the shooter. All the while your yelling things like, "I'M GOING TO RIP YOUR FACE OFF YOU NO GOOD (@#$%^&*+!@#$%^&) !!!!!" You've got to get REAL mad !!!! This punk may shoot you, so that should make you VERY-VERY mad. Think to yourself, 'How dare this fool aim a gun at me... I did not do anything to him and here he is about to shoot a bullet at me and maybe actually 'hurt my person... how dare he.' "MAN... I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR BUTT BACK INTO YESTERDAY AND "THEN" EVEN LAST WEEK !!!!!" I'm a former front-line combat Recon Marine Platoon Sergeant. WE DON'T STOP COMING AT YOU !!! I'll find some rocks, or broken bottle, sand, anything I can get or grab to stop the bad guy !!! So all the while your doing all this zig-zagging and rock throwing yelling like what-ever, your also taking very-very quick steps toward the shooter. Naturally the more of you doing this "reverse-attack" program, the better the odd's one of you will actually get close enough to do some damage to the fool. I'll let a "Hand-to-Hand" combat instructor explain the harm you can cause with just 1 hand. Throw in both hands and feet and in time you become a walking weapon. Look, the odd's are since you have no gun and the shooter does, there is a 100% chance your going to get shot. And guess what ? Getting shot is no big deal unless the bullet hit's a spot on your body that causes a complete break-down of your system. (((TRIVIA TIME))) Which President got shot and walked to the Hospital? Do you know why the .45 cal pistol came out during WW-II ? (I'll answer this one) Well, our men would empty their .38's into the enemy but the bullets had no effect on stopping forward motion of the human body that was high on drugs!! Thus the dope-head native swinging his ax and the force of his movement caused him to chop our guys up like crazy (even though he was just about dead). The .45 will push the human body backwards !! (I'm telling you this in case some of you start packing some lead). I'm mean the .45 is going to be a bit heavy in your pocket, compared to the 5 shot .17 cal I carry (in my pocket, but only around home). Now I do have a .22 cal long rifle at one end of our home and a pump .16 gauge shotgun near our bed if things get serious. AND DON'T TELL ANYONE (except your spouse) WHERE YOU HIDE YOUR PROTECTION !!! I really don't want to kill anyone, I just want to make him change his mind about coming in my house. O.K. back to the nut with the pistol who's giving people a free trip to Heaven. Obviously somebody is going to get shot and or killed. So what... we are ALL going to die someday anyway. Might as well be a Hero. What the heck. You may actually get to and stop the shooter. THEN YOUR A 'SUPER-HERO' !!! They might even name a street after you. (Semper-fi...Uuu-raaahhh)
Need to shrink gauged ears.. home remedies? I had my ears stretched to a little over an inch. I know people say 0 is the point of no return but its done and over with so nothing I can do now. I have had them out for a year and they're pencil sized now. I am joining the Marines and I need to get a home remedy to seal them up. I can't afford surgery so please do not suggest this. So far I'm trying preparation h which I saw elsewhere online helped someone else. Any ideas??
TRUE OR FALSE question; All Americans answer.? is it true or false that nearly 50% of newly enlisted US marines have criminal records and required moral waivers (which is required for 5+ traffic tickets exceeding 250$ each, 2+ non serious (felony) arrests or 1+ serious (felony) arrests) in each of the last 5 years. BTW, to gauge the probability; Any american younger than 30years old has a 4-7% chance of meeting any one of the criteria listed above.
